What is a Eucharistic Congress?

A Eucharistic Congress is a gathering of clergy, religious, and laity to bear witness to the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. Each fall parishioners and religious from all over western North Carolina gather for the Diocese of Charlotte’s Eucharistic Congress, with people from 92 parishes and missions represented each year.
The annual Eucharistic Congress includes a Eucharistic Procession through uptown Charlotte, a Holy Hour with the Bishop of Charlotte, celebration of the Holy Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, engaging speakers in multiple languages, sacred art and music, fellowship, food and more!
The first Eucharistic Congress for the Diocese of Charlotte was held September 23 & 24, 2005. It continues to be a source of inspiration for all of those who attend each and every year.
