Procession

SATURDAY MORNING PROCESSION
A highlight of the annual Eucharistic Congress is a mile-long procession through the streets of uptown Charlotte on Saturday morning. The Eucharistic procession starts at St. Peter Catholic Church at 9 a.m. and ends inside the Charlotte Convention Center, where the day’s program is held.
Procession participants: Please line up by 8:30 a.m. Saturday as shown below, depending on which group you are with. Parishioners, please gather along Wells Fargo Plaza at the corner of South Tryon and Third streets (purple area on map below) or anywhere along the purple procession route to join in behind your parish’s banner as it passes by.

Please note: First Communicants are invited to join the entrance procession for the closing Mass of the Eucharistic Congress. See details below.
CLOSING MASS PROCESSION
Last year’s procession of First Communicants at the closing Mass of the Eucharistic Congress was such a fan favorite that we’re doing it again this year! Bishop Peter Jugis invites all 2023 First Communicants to lead the procession at the closing Mass of the 19th annual Eucharistic Congress on Saturday afternoon.
- First Communicants should wear their First Communion outfits.
- Parents: Please bring your children to Room 219C (East Wing of the Charlotte Convention Center) no later than 3:45 p.m. Saturday. Congress volunteers will be there to organize everyone before heading down to the exhibit hall to form the procession line for Mass. Please remain with your child throughout the procession.
- The Mass will begin promptly at 4:15 p.m. Children and their parents will have reserved seating for Mass.
