Bishop’s Youth Pilgrimage

The Bishop’s Youth Pilgrimage, held each spring, is designed to provide young people of the Diocese of
Charlotte with a day of reflection, prayer, formation, vocation awareness and fellowship. It is a component of the annual Eucharistic Congress, whose theme in 2022 is “Faith More Precious Than Gold,” from 1 Peter 1:7.

During the day-long event, which runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., youth enjoy live music, a vocations fair and motivational speakers, as well as Eucharistic Adoration and a Eucharistic Procession on the historic Belmont Abbey College campus. There are separate program tracks for middle and high school students, and the sacrament of confession will also be available.

Registration information and program details for the 2022 event will be announced as plans are finalized. If you have any questions, please contact 704-370-3247.

About the Day

Bishop Peter J. Jugis invites middle and high school youth to join him at Belmont Abbey College for a day of prayer and adoration of our Eucharistic Lord. The Bishop’s Youth Pilgrimage is graciously hosted by Belmont Abbey College and Monastery and provides youth with an experience of the Catholic faith with uplifting music and dynamic speakers. The Youth Pilgrimage is the perfect opportunity to prepare the way for the Eucharistic Congress in September.

The Bishop’s Youth Pilgrimage takes place rain or shine! In case of inclement weather, all youth groups are directed to go to the Wheeler Center.
